It’s so nice to meet you! My name is Ellie, but my family has always called me El. I’ve been dabbling in the art of making jewelry since the age of ten, when I turned my closet (not a walk-in, just a closet) into my “office”. When he saw how passionate I was about turning wire, chain, and gemstones into beautiful pieces of jewelry, my dad brought me to a friend who owned her own jewelry boutique, and I began to watch in awe as stories were woven in the form of shimmering topaz earrings.

Elle s’appelle is familiar to those of you who speak French, but for anyone who doesn’t, this beautiful little phrase literally translates to “she is called”. This holds a plethora of significance to me, personally. I believe that we have the beautiful power to choose our own identity as we go forth in the world. This belief has been constantly reinforced by the dear friend who nicknamed me Elle S’Appelle in college, where I was the French major but she was more fluent. She, along with countless other friends, family members, and my incredible fiancé, have put all of their support and belief into me as I make this dream into a reality.

I make each and every piece by hand with designs inspired from the beauty of a life that I’m lucky enough to live every day. I live and create in the Emerald City, Seattle, where inspiration is never hard to come by. I use only authentic, ethically sourced gemstones, and I hand pick all of my materials.
